A new addition to CyberComm
June 23rd, 2006
Well, we’ve bitten the bullet and started a blog. You are now reading the first post. Any business that has a closed mind to new ideas could be closing their doors down the road because of it. When your business is internet related, the only thing that does remain constant is change. Not entertaining new ideas and sticking to the same routine day after day will still dictate change, although it may be the way you make a living that changes.
Since CyberComm Marketing started in August ‘99 we told prospective clients that a website was essential for the growth of their business. That still is true today, because the reasoning is still sound. Communicating what your business does, how it does it, and why someone should do business with you is the most important thing you can do.
The internet is so perfect for several reasons. Your information is accessible from across the street or around the world. There are no geographical boundaries. It opens up the possibility of a big idea in a small town getting found by the world if it’s good enough. The information also has the capabilty of being deleted, added, or changed at a moments notice. Even with these two huge benefits, it’s still the most inexpensive marketing tool you can possess.
I make the statements above to explain why we’re starting this blog. People that know me will tell you that I spend way too much time in front of a computer already, and that my hunt and peck method of typing is so painfully slow that Christmas will probably be here and gone by the time I finish this post. I’m only half joking when I say that, but not when it comes to communicating with our clients and the changes
we need to make so we can have a dialogue that will benefit them.
We used to pick up ideas from the windshield repair guy in California, and tell the guy in Atlanta what he was doing. The foundation repair business in Philadelphia, PA may be doing something to promote his business like putting on a seminar that our foundation repair customers in Charlotte, NC or Denver CO might like to try. While we have been fortunate in growing year after year, it’s unfortunate that sometimes we lose that personal touch and fail to build a relationship with our customers like we could in the early days. This site will make it possible to help inform everybody with information that will help them manage their business more effectivley. Hopefully, we’ll have news about what’s going on in your industry, or marketing ideas we may have. We can make this site our own little community that can serve as an information clearing house. I might have an idea that may interest you from time to time. It doesn’t take but one to make a big difference. In the past 30 years I’ve picked up a thing or two about selling, advertising, and marketing. If you ask me something, and my answer doesn’t flip your switch, what have you lost?
Anyway, I’m starting this blog because I think we can improve communication, whether you are Morgan Rental Properties in Starkville, MS, who is our oldest client (August ‘99), or our newest client (June 22, 2006), Advanced Interior Restoration Services in Modesto, CA.
Thanks for Your Time
